  • 2004-Present: Ph.D: Department of Biological Sciences, University of Texas at El Paso.
  • 2006 (Spring): Semester study/ research with Christensen Lab, Department of Physical Geography and Ecosystems Analysis,  Lund University, Sweden.
  • 1998 – 2003: BS. Department of Biology, University of California at Los Angeles Specialization in Ecology, Behavior, and Evolution.

Research Interests:

  • Systems ecology, land cover change, tundra ecology, plant ecology, ecosystem carbon exchange, ecosystem spectral properties, remote sensing, plant physiology, advanced technology in ecology.

Personal Statement:

  • I’m a southern Californian at heart, however, I’ve spent a lot of time learning about the world in various ecosystems ranging from the southwest deserts (Mojave, Sonoran and Chihuahuan) to the low and high arctic tundra of Russia and Alaska.  I thoroughly enjoy traveling and exploring the world.  Through success and through failure, I am always observing and learning – I consider myself a student of life.
